Smash & grab at the palace
Not a hope: Chats' Ossie Joseph is dismissed by a blinder from Paul Hosking
Not a hope: Chats' Ossie Joseph is dismissed by a tricky one from Paul Hosking

This was more like it! Runs were scored. The bowling was tight. The catches held.

In short - we played a blinder and won. Of course, we had the right opposition. Chats had also only won a single game all season, and were ripe for the plucking.

Jim Thornhill and Jonathan Stebbins notched up 83 of a 125 total in a slow-scoring match.

Paul Markinko had the dubious honour of becoming the first Fallopian to be out bowled female (Wahl), caught female (Carter), but we don't make an issue of that kind of thing in this club.

John Rooney was unlucky to be out caught behind from the lightest of touches.

Our bowling was the season's best, with Freddie Barrass, Paul Hosking and Stebbins all delivering four overs for under 20 runs.

Dave Sultanti held two important catches - Chats' captain Gary Horsman and ringer Russell Garside.

Peter Frisby, captaining for an absent Andrew Wardle in the season's last league game, took the glory of leading the Fallopians to their second victory of the summer.

The team's on a roll -- bring on the cup!
