|June 3, 2003||League vs Sleek||Lost by 159 runs|
Sleek shine as we tumble
Toss lost and Sleek chose to bat.
Excellent catching off Clarke and Castle's bowling by keeper Muir, Thornhill and Hosking removed early wickets, including a caught & bowled by Clarke.
But the mid-order dug in and fired everything Thornhill and Hosking threw at them over the boundary.
Last two overs bowled by Tate and Fawkner massively reduced run rate and kept Sleek under 200 (they got 199).
Tate also managed a spectacular run out when, attempting a caught & bowled, his palm deflected the ball onto the other batsman's wicket.
Memo to captain: use these two bowlers again!
Not much to say about our batting. Highest scores were Thornhill 13 and Hobson 7*. All out for 40.
