Telfer ton-up shatters Dukes
Blue skies mixed with dark clouds set the scene for the Old Fallopians's first weekend outing of the summer. There was no need for thunder as the Fallopians' overseas star signing Richard Telfer blasted his way to 100, scattering the tennis players with one mighty shot over the safety netting. He wasn't the only one to interfere with play on the hard court, with Fawad Omer also chopping one round to leg over the wire fence, before falling to an early catch on 13. Skipper Jonathan Stebbins bowled another super economical session - four overs, two wickets for only four runs. Omer and Majid Ali bowled out their eight overs for a wicket apiece and just 43 runs between them. Peter Morrow, on his debut, took two blinding catches. Duke of Hamilton claimed a score of 200-8 off 40 overs, though there were only 181 runs in their book. In their turn, the Old Fallopians claimed to have won on 202-5 off 25.4 overs, but again the book said 194. We still won, though... The two sides meet again on July 17 on Hampstead Heath.
