Bards inflict tragic defeat
David Sultanti writes:
We did not too badly on the raising a team front, 10 and were
joined by Gus Hore, the 12 year old son to Simon, opponent's opening
bowler.
We were short a few but Greg Clifford managed to recruit a couple
of Aussies (Matty and Brocky) who said with no "mate" on the end,
"we loved it and are keen to play again".
New boy Jo Swift played, adding competition to the role of keeper
and we witnessed, freshly released from deepest Kent, the return and
seasonal reappearance of Richard Griffiths.
We won the toss and put the opposition in. We fielded like
retrievers and bowled like turret gummers, though... actually, might
have been the other way around, we lost by, at least hundred runs.
Never mind, it can't get any worse...
