Played at Hampstead Heath Extension A great game of cricket. We lost the game by margin of 56 runs but the match was much closely fought as at one stage Woodford Green did not look like even reaching 3 figures. Toss: Two captains agreed without toss and Old Fallopians chose to bowl. Bowling: Philip Barrass and Azaz Khalil started with tight bowling and run rate was slow. Philip drew the first blood where the bowl stuck on the pitch and batsman tried to loft over the midoff only to find safe fielder Sheraz. John Shaw came as first change and bowled all 8 overs with very tight line and rewarded by 3 wickets. The two new debutants Jack and Hassan bowled well. Jack took 3 wickets which is outstanding performance on first game. Great spell after his nerves settled in the first over. Sheraz and Steve chipped in with 1 wicket each. Batting: Will Ellis and Spike started well and on 15 first wicket fell. Will E getting out as ball stuck in the pitch and short played early. After that Suhail came and held one end and other batsman got start but could not hold the other end and eventually all team got out on 93 of 32 overs leaving Suhail on 37 not out. The two debutants scored 4 runs each. Fielding: Was spot on, good catches and hardly any midfields or dropped catch. 3 excellent catches - 1 from Sheraz, 1 from Will Ellis. Lunch: Some great food that both team enjoyed –included home cooked murgh biryani (chicken), Aalo bhujia (potato with cumins), chana masala, naan breads and cakes/biscuts. - report by Suhail Shahid
